Jones, who is known for his heated on-air rants, is currently in the middle of a custody battle with his ex-wife. In a pretrial hearing, his lawyer attempted to claim that the Alex Jones everyone knows from InfoWars is merely a character he plays, a claim his ex-wife is refuting.

Colbert knows a thing or two about playing characters, as he played an exaggerated, fictional host on the satirical late-night news show The Colbert Report. He returned to form last night, with his character Tuck Buckford, host of the fake show BrainFight, which bore a striking resemblance to InfoWars. Buckford sounded very Jones-like, saying such things as “The liberals want to tattoo Obama logos onto the skin of Christian babies!” and “My blood is on fire! My heart is a volcano. It’s time to throw a virgin in it!” Compare that with actual Jones quotes, such as “My heart’s big! It’s got hot blood, going through it fast. I like to fight too! I like to eat! I like to have children!” and the parody doesn’t seem all that far from reality.
