Stephen Colbert Burns Kanye West Over Taylor Swift, Grammys, and Twitter

Looks like Stephen Colbert wants in on some celebrity feuding because he decided to tackle Kanye West on The Late Show the Tuesday after the Grammys. He kicked off his segment on West by going after him for his recent, much-maligned lyrics about Taylor Swift. In his song “Famous,” West raps, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that b—- famous.” Noted Colbert, “Kanye, I have a feeling the odds of you having sex with Taylor Swift are about the same as winning a Grammy you weren’t nominated for.”

As for Kanye’s tweet about his debt, “I write to you my brothers while still 53 million dollars in personal debt … Please pray we overcome …,” Colbert said, “… He shall overcome, after all I believe it was Martin Luther King who said, ‘Please give me 53 million dollars.’” Colbert also mocked West asking Mark Zuckerberg for a billion dollars by saying, “Brilliant! I can’t think of a better way to reach out to the founder of Facebook than the one place he’s sure to look — Twitter.”

If Kanye West has watched Colbert’s segment, he hasn’t tweeted about it yet, so time will tell if Colbert will be able to get under the skin of the sometimes irritable rapper.
