Stephen Colbert and Scott Bakula ‘Quantum Leap’ to Stop Donald Trump

On The Late Show, Stephen Colbert showed an old clip from Quantum Leap where Dr. Beckett leaped into the body of a 1950s New York cab driver and influenced a young Donald Trump to get into real estate. Colbert then blamed Scott Bakula for Trump’s rise to power, and decided to make a leap back to when Trump was a young boy to try to stop him.

After some effects reminiscent of the early ’90s, Colbert found himself in the cab with Scott Bakula, where he helped Scott talk a young Trump out of going into politics. Unfortunately, every time Scott tried to make things better, Colbert got a message from Ziggy (his colorful handheld computer) saying that the future has actually gotten worse.

The guys eventually gave up and just wanted things to get back to the way they were. So Bakula told young Trump, “Forget everything I said to you tonight. Just do whatever you want and always say the first thing that comes to your mind.” To which tiny Trump replied, “Shut up, you clown!”
