Stephen Colbert and Neil Patrick Harris' Twisted Christmas Carol

Neil Patrick Harris stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Wednesday night, and he and the host frightened everyone with a twisted performance of “Jingle Bells.” Because Harris is so good at playing the villainous character, Count Olaf, in Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, Colbert decided to have some fun and make a classic Christmas carol creepy.

He cued the some dark lighting and music, and the two went back and forth delivering lines in the most maniacal ways possible. Colbert started it off with a frightening “Dashing through the snow,” and Harris continued with a sinister “In a one-horse open sleigh.”

The two continued on like that, throwing in some menacing laughter along the way. When they finished, Colbert told Harris that he was terrifying, to which NPH responded with, “I got shivers.” Then, of course, Colbert had to take it too far when he said, “I s*** my pants. Merry Christmas!”

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
