Stephanie McMahon has resigned from WWE.

McMahon shared the news in a tweet on January 10. She noted that the move comes after her father, Vince McMahon, returned to the company as the Executive Chair on January. Stephanie stated that Vince is leading an “exciting process regarding strategic alternatives,  and with Nick Khan’s leadership and Paul “Triple H” Levesque’s role as Chief Content Officer, she is confident that WWE is in “the perfect place to continue to provide unparalleled creative content and drive maximum value for shareholders”.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful subsequently tweeted that WWE confirmed that Khan is now the sole CEO. Per Sapp, WWE reiterated that Levesque is still the Chief Content Officer, and he continues to head up talent and live events.

Stephanie announced that she was taking a leave of absence from WWE in May 2022. In June, she was named the Interim CEO Vince stepped down amid an investigation by the WWE board into allegations of sexual misconduct and hush money. Vince retired on July 22, and the company named Stephanie and Khan the co-CEOs. On January 6, WWE confirmed that Vince had returned to the Board of Directors. On January 5, he announced his intention to return and participate in negotiations for media rights deals, along with a potential sale of the company.
