Steely Dan’s Donald Fagen is no longer in the hospital and expects to return to the road soon, a source close to the situation confirms to Rolling Stone.

Steely Dan have missed the last few shows on their tour with the Eagles, starting with a pair of gigs in Denver on Oct. 5 and 6, followed by last night’s show, Oct. 9, in Indianapolis. According to the Indianapolis Star, Fagen missed the concert because he was hospitalized, though the nature of his illness is still unclear.

For the Denver concerts, Sheryl Crow stepped in for Steely Dan as their replacement. Starting Monday night in Indianapolis, the Steve Miller Band took over as opener, and they’ll continue to provide support at upcoming gigs in Detroit and Cleveland. Vince Gill — who’s part of the current Eagles lineup — will pull double duty and open an Oct. 15 show in Pittsburgh with a solo set.

According to Steely Dan’s website, the group expects to rejoin the tour in November. Their first show back will be Nov. 2 in Atlanta, after which they’ll play shows in Charlotte, North Carolina; Raleigh, North Carolina; Lexington, Kentucky; and St. Paul, Minnesota. (The Eagles and Steely Dan also have a pair of gigs in Los Angeles scheduled for next January.)

The Indy Star also reported that five members of the Eagles’ road crew tested positive for Covid-19. During the concert, Don Henley thanked the Steve Miller Band for filling in and his crew for making the night possible. “The show must go on,” Henley told the crowd.
