Report: Steelers' Antonio Brown tears calf muscle vs. Patriots

Pittsburgh Steelers wideout and MVP candidate Antonio Brown suffered a partially torn calf muscle in Sunday’s loss to the New England Patriots, according to an ESPN report.

In the first half, Brown got tangled up with two Patriots defenders on an end zone pass and had to be helped off the field; he could not put any weight on his left leg. Fans at Heinz Field chanted “M-V-P! M-V-P!” as Brown left the field.

After spending a couple of minutes in the blue medical tent on the Pittsburgh sideline, Brown went back to the team’s locker room with medical personnel.

The Steelers tweeted that Brown’s injury was to his left calf and that his return was questionable. Later, he was ruled out.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Brown will likely miss next week’s game against the Houston Texans:
