Stars Mourn ‘Irreplaceable’ Singer Leonard Cohen

Hollywood actors, musicians and others paid tribute to legendary singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen, who died Thursday at age 82.

“There was just nobody like him,” Matthew Broderick told Variety at the “Rules Don’t Apply” premiere Thursday evening. “He was the most unique singer, songwriter, and performer. His passing is just a big loss.”

“I’m just a huge fan,” added Broderick’s wife and actress, Sarah Jessica Parker. “I have so much of his music on my iPod. He will be missed.”

In a lengthy statement, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called Cohen — a native Montrealer — “one of the most influential and enduring musicians ever.”

Trudeau added: “Leonard Cohen managed to reach the highest of artistic achievement, both as an acclaimed poet and a world-renowned singer-songwriter.
