Jennifer Jeffries gave what judge Luke Bryan said was possibly her best performance Monday night on "American Idol."

The 18-year-old from Starkville gave a haunting rendition of Kodaline's "All I Want" after learning she was not voted through to the Top 14 on the show. Judges Lionel Richie, Katy Perry and Bryan gave Jeffries a standing ovation.

"This was a big shocker to me," Bryan said, but added that her performance of "Grave Digger" the night before may not have given her the "step-out moment" she needed to capture enough votes to move on in the competition.

"We've yet to hear you do falsetto and that was a new trick we didn't know you had," Bryan added.

"It surprised me as well," Jeffries said when host Ryan Seacrest asked her about the falsetto she used in the song.

Bryan said he expects to see Jeffries continue her career in music despite being voted off. Seacrest also gave Jeffries encouragement to keep singing.

"You close your eyes, you know it's you the second you start singing," Seacrest said. "You've got such an incredible, unique voice."
