Starbucks Just Dropped Super Rare Mugs and Cold Cups for Summer
  • Starbucks' new summer 2021 line of merchandise has landed inside Target and grocery retailers, with a full rollout to standalone cafés later this month.

  • The most anticipated new additions are 24-ounce multicolored dome cold cups, some of which feature a kaleidoscope design motif beneath its lid.

  • Rumors circulating on social media suggest that as many as 25 cups, mugs and water bottles, among other merch, could be released between now and August.

The flowers are blooming, the days are getting longer, and like other surefire signs of summer, Starbucks fans are spotting brand new merchandise and menu items at their local café.

Customers were likely intrigued this month to hear that the coffee giant unveiled a brand new drink, the Strawberry Funnel Cake Frappuccino!, as well as a few other beloved seasonal treats like the Unicorn Cake Pop. But diehard Starbucks enthusiasts are definitely more excited by the arrival of a new line of coffee cold cups, water bottles and mugs.

The newest line of merch features gorgeous marbled designs and bright ombré motifs that any true cup collector will love. A few standouts include tonal marbled 24-ounce cold cups that emulate waves on the ocean shore, plus iridescent ombré grid cold cups and water bottles in a multitude of colors.

Coffee aficionados may be most compelled, however, by a pale pink opalescent 24-ounce coffee tumbler with a domed lid. The special design also comes in a transparent blue hue, but it's unlike any other cold cups released this year. Starbucks has yet to confirm prices on any of these pieces of new merchandise, but these cups usually range from $18 to $25.

While the chain has yet to confirm it, eagle-eyed social media user @coffeekawaii noticed that one new section featured on Starbucks' merchandise shelves includes a new rainbow dome tumbler designed exclusively for Pride Month in June. The cold cup reportedly sports a kaleidoscope beneath its lid and reflects light in all directions while you enjoy a coffee of your choice. What's more, there's a blue-tinted pearlescent mug that's sure to sell out soon.

Other social media users in Facebook groups dedicated to cup hunting and all things Starbucks have shared screenshots of PDFs that indicate more merchandise may be released later in the summer. Starbucks hasn't confirmed any plans, but rumors and speculation shared online suggest that an additional batch of cups may land in stores in late June; by our count, the full summer collection contains well over 20 pieces of merchandise. We'll update this story as more details and prices become available.

Some social users have claimed they've discovered new cups in standalone Starbucks cafés across the country. But like other merch drops at Starbucks the best chance to purchase these new cups and mugs may be to visit a local Target or grocery retailers with an in-house Starbucks. Those who regularly buy new cups have long headed to Target and stores like Kroger or Safeway to find them first — and getting your grocery shopping done early may be just another excuse to get your hands on yet another cold cup.
