Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is developing a new Star Wars movie, although details are being kept under wraps.

In a recent interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Feige cast doubt on the fantastical possibility of the Marvel Cinematic Universe crossing over into Star Wars territory.

"If you'd ask me if anything we're talking about right now is in the realm of possibility 20 years ago, I would have said, 'I don't think so,'" Feige said. "But I really don't think so with that."

He suggested that Patton Oswalt's viral filibuster on Parks and Recreation — where he improvised a story in which the X-Men join forces with Star Wars characters — is probably as close as it will get.

KEVIN POLOWY: We know you're also currently producing an upcoming Star Wars movie. Is there a world in which Marvel and Star Wars someday could collide in the same movie? Is that in the realm of possibility?

KEVIN FEIGE: If you'd asked me if anything we're talking about right now is in the realm of possibility 20 years ago, I would have said, I don't think so. But I really don't think so with that. I don't think there's any reason for it. I like the X-Men Star Trek The Next Generation crossover comic with Picard and Xavier standing and looking at each other as much as the next person. I don't know that, uh, that that's necessary in anything other than the comics.

Patton Oswalt has a great crossover routine from "Parks and Rec" that I'm sure you've seen. That's probably as close as we'll ever get.

GARTH BLUNDIN: Then--

LESLIE KNOPE: --exactly why we need to--

GARTH BLUNDIN: Then at the edge of the Star Destroyer's orbit, suddenly the time ribbon begins wavering. And what comes through? The X-Men's Quinjet! That's right!

KEVIN POLOWY: Almost hurts my head to think about how it could be executed. But, you know, the trucks are parked in the same garage, so, you know. It's something people are going to think about. What, what can you say about that new Star Wars movie you're working on?

KEVIN FEIGE: Nothing. Nothing at all.
