Not only has Julia Roberts reteamed with Pretty Woman director Garry Marshall (again!), but the Oscar winner is sharing the spotlight with big-name co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Kate Hudson in this first trailer (above) for Mother’s Day, premiering exclusively on Yahoo Movies.
In the tradition of Marshall’s ensemble rom-coms Valentine’s Day (in which Roberts also starred) and New Year’s Eve, Mother’s Day promises to weave together multiple storylines centered around the titular holiday. Roberts plays Miranda, a (childless?) television host; Aniston portrays Sandy, a recent divorcée looking for love; and Hudson is Jesse, a mom who seeks to strengthen her relationship with her own mother. Motherhood of many forms is celebrated in the new footage, including Jason Sudeikis as a Mr. Mom type who connects with Sandy.
Timothy Olyphant, Sarah Chalke, and Jon Lovitz are among the many familiar faces in the cast, along with Britt Robertson (Tomorrowland), who plays a young woman who was adopted. Could Miranda be her real mother? We’ll find out for sure when the movie comes out April 29.
