‘The Star': Take a Look At the Colorful Cast of Animal-Focused Telling of Nativity Story (Exclusive Video)
Sony Pictures Animation assembled a heck of a cast for “The Star,” a retelling of the Nativity Story told from the perspectives of the animals who just happened to be nearby, out this week on DVD and Blu-ray.
Listing off the full cast would take up the whole page, so here are the highlights: Tyler Perry, Anthony Anderson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steven Yeun, Tracy Morgan, Gina Rodriguez, Ving Rhames, Christopher Plummer, Mariah Carey, Aidy Bryant, Kelly Clarkson and Kristin Chenowith. Oh, and Oprah Winfrey. Can’t forget her.
In the video above, which is an excerpt from one of the special features included with the home video release of “The Star,” you’ll get a look at the cast doing their thing, as well as director Timothy Reckart and producer DeVon Franklin discussing their vision for the faith-based flick.

Among the other special features on the disc are singalong videos featuring songs by Mariah Carey, Kirk Franklin, Fifth Harmony, Kelsea Ballerini and A Great Big World, as well as a discussion with Franklin called “Faith All Year Round,” about “how to keep the spirit of this inspiring story alive in us every day.”
In addition to physical media, “The Star” is also out now from digital retailers like iTunes, Amazon and Vudu.
