Stanley Tucci Reveals the "Hard Role" Felicity Blunt Took on After First Wife's Death

Stanley Tucci has nothing but love and admiration for his wife, Felicity Blunt.
While on Alec Baldwin's iHeart podcast Here's the Thing in July of 2020, Stanley talked with the 30 Rock actor about his life with Felicity in the United Kingdom, where the two currently reside. During their discussion, the Searching for Italy star explained how the couple ultimately decided to give up their home in upstate New York to venture across the pond.
"We were together for a couple of years, because she came to live with us. She came to live with me and the kids for two years. We were up in Westchester," Stanley explained to Alec. "We rented an apartment in the city because she worked so much in the city, [and] it was easier for her. It was great."
Of course, Stanley acknowledged how challenging it must've been for Felicity early on in their relationship. Stanley lost his first wife, Kathryn "Kate" Tucci, to breast cancer in 2009. The two had fraternal twins Nicolo and Isabel together as well as a daughter named Camila.
"It's a really hard role. Having been a stepparent and then for her to be a stepparent at that young age with three kids was, you know. It was really tough," Stanley continued.
But obviously, things worked in the end. Stanley and Felicity got married in 2012. Now, the pair has two little ones together — a daughter named Emilia and a son named Matteo.
Looking back at it all, Stanley echoed similar words about Felicity in 2017 to The Guardian.
"It is not easy to find somebody who is going to take on three teenagers [twins Nicolo and Isabel and Camilla] and a widower. That’s a lot," he explained. "But she was willing to take on that challenge."
