Stan Lee's latest Marvel cameo: Spider-Man's United Airlines safety video

The airlines of the world continue to go to great lengths — er, heights — to make sure you're paying attention to their safety videos.

Following Air New Zealand’s epic Lord of the Rings effort, Virgin America's Black Eyed Peas-esque Top 40 music video and American Airlines' unexpected spin at some sort of Warholian pop art, United has teamed with Sony ahead of the release of July's Spider-Man: Far From Home to bring the friendly neighborhood web-slinger to the friendly skies.

The nearly five-minute video, which you can watch above, intersperses prototypical flight safety instructions (delivered in staid line readings by what we have to assume are not professional actors, but actual United employees) with vignettes of Spidey hunting down three baddies for the crime of … nefariously entering a deli? The plot logic isn'texactly rock-solid here.

While we guarantee that’s not Tom Holland in the blue-and-red super suit, the PSA does feature cameos from costars Hemky Madera (Mr. Delmar), Jacob Batalon (Ned) and Tony Revolori (Flash), as well as United CEO Oscar Munoz.

Most notably, however, the video includes a nice nod to the late, great Stan Lee, whose "Employee of the Month" photo we catch on a shelf at the aforementioned deli.

While Avengers: Endgame was confirmed to be the last in-the-flesh appearance by the comic book icon and Marvel Cinematic Universe staple, a cameo here signals Marvel and the Far From Home filmmakers have likely figured out a way to incorporate his likeness into the sequel. (It's a big day for Stan Lee fans: News has also been spreading of a Change.org petition calling for a statue of him in his native New York City, thus far generating over 70,000 signatures.)

And while we're talking Far From Home clues, the video concludes with a mention that we can catch United in the upcoming film. So — SPOILER ALERT! — we can now confirm what airline Peter Parker (Holland) and classmates will be flying to Europe. Sorry if we ruined that for you.
