Stacy McKay, Dino Tripodis, Andre Styles go off-air amid apparent layoffs

Longtime morning radio hosts Stacy McKay and Dino Tripodis have left Sunny 95 amid a round of apparent layoffs, according to social media posts and a RadioInsights article.

Neither were on the air Wednesday or Thursday.

"All good things must come to an end…It’s been the most amazing ride a girl could ask for! Thanks for allowing me to join you on your ride to work/school every morning! It was an honor…a dream come true! And now this girl is ready to chill before the next adventure!" McKay wrote in a Facebook post Wednesday.

Tripodis could not be reached by The Dispatch for comment as of early Thursday afternoon.

In this file photo, morning show radio personality at WSNY (94.7 FM) Dino Tripodis displays a children's book called "It's NOT the stork!" to longtime co-host Stacy McKay during an Aug. 20 broadcast of "Sunny This Morning with Stacy McKay and Dino Tripodis." Tripodis was at Sunny 95 for 24 years before he left in 2018 to pursue his own creative projects. He returned in July 2021, but now he and McKay appear to have been laid off by the station.

McKay and Tripodis started hosting mornings on Sunny 95 in 1996. Tripodis left the station in 2018 to pursue his own creative projects before returning in 2021. McKay has been hosting mornings on the station continuously since 2010 when she returned from a brief stint at 104.9 The River, according to her LinkedIn Page.

The webpage for McKay and Tripodis' show, "Sunny This Morning", has been taken down from Sunny 95's website. As of Thursday morning, the hosts were not heard on-air as the station played only music and a promotion saying something new was coming to the station.

Longtime radio employees Clark Donley and Greg Hansberry also left Sunny 95 this week, according to the RadioInsights article.

Mix 107.9 host Andre Styles also let go

Also leaving the air is Mix 107.9 host Andre Styles, according to an Instagram post.

"After 14 years, my time with Saga and @mymix1079 is unfortunately over with. To say I’m shocked is an understatement. The amount of years, days, hours I put in. A lot of hours not at home. Going in when sick, late at night, early in the morning, during Covid and more. Some said the face, voice and heart beat of Mix. It sucks!" he wrote in the Instagram post.

Styles also was not on the air Thursday morning and the webpage for his show had been taken down.

Both Sunny 95 and Mix 107.9 are owned by Saga Communications. The company did not respond as of early Thursday afternoon to a message left by The Dispatch seeking comment.
