Stabbing victim, 27, dies after being dumped at Bronx hospital

A 27-year-old stabbing victim died after he was dumped at a Bronx hospital, police said Monday.

Mortally wounded Juan Rojas-Lopez was dropped off at BronxCare Health System by someone who didn’t stick around about 10:10 p.m. Sunday. Doctors couldn’t save the victim.

Cops later determined Rojas-Lopez was stabbed in the torso and left tricep on W. 174th St. between Grand Ave. and Macombs Road in Morris Heights about 10 minutes before he showed up at the hospital. No arrests have been made.

Rojas-Lopez, who lived in the Bronx about two miles away from where he was stabbed, had no arrest record. It’s unclear why he was stabbed.

About three hours after the stabbing, an 18-year-old man showed up at the same hospital with a gunshot wound to his upper body, police said.

Police do not believe the incidents are connected but said the shooting victim wouldn’t tell police where he was shot or why. He is in stable condition.
