St. Vitus hosting Palm Sunday dinner

Mar. 5—A Palm Sunday dinner will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 24 at the new St. Vitus social hall, 6022 Lausche Ave. in Cleveland, to support the Slovenian education of children.

The meal, available sit-down or take-out, is a choice of roast beef or roasted chicken, Slovenian-style soup, Slovenian-style potatoes, salad, side vegetable dish, roll with butter, and pastry. Cost is $20 per adult and $15 per child.

Individuals may order dinner tickets in advance from St. Vitus Rectory at 216-361-1444 or skuhar@hotmail.com. Half of the available tickets already have been sold, according to a news release

St. Vitus Saturday Slovenian School has been in continuous existence since the mid-1950s, teaching children in kindergarten through eighth grade the basics of Slovenian language, the fine arts, Slovenian heritage and culture.

Also benefiting from the Palm Sunday meal are Notre Dame Sisters to Notre Dame Elementary School and Notre Dame Cathedral Latin High School, who taught at St.Vitus Elementary School from 1902 to 2003, the release stated.
