St. Patrick's Day events, performances in and around Eugene

Are you looking to make St. Patrick’s Day plans? Get into the mood to shamrock and roll with these St. Patrick’s Day events located all around the Emerald City.

Céili St. Patrick’s Day Dance

This all-ages dance event aims to share the joys of Céili, a traditional Irish social dance, for the second year in a row. The Frolicking Meese dance group welcomes dancers of all skill and age levels to join in on the festivities, dance the night away and learn more about the moves that honor St. Patrick.

When: Friday, March 15. Doors open at 7 p.m. with a short lesson at 7:15 p.m. Dancing happens from 7:45 to 10 p.m. Youth under 14 must attend with an adult. There is no partner requirement and no entry fee. Registration required.

Where: Amazon Community Center, 2700 Hilyard St., Eugene.

Pint Pot Public House Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celtic Celebration

The Pint Pot Public House is hosting its annual St. Patrick's Day Celebration Saturday and Sunday for a weekend of live music, dance team performances, face painting, giveaways and of course, Irish drinks and foods. Some performers include the Eugene Celtic Dance Team, Lane County Fire Brigade Pipes and Drums, the Eugene Highlanders and traditional acoustic Celtic bands playing both inside and outside all weekend long.

Kids 12 and younger are free and welcome until 6 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance.

When: Saturday, March 16, and Sunday, March 17, from 12:30 p.m. to about 1 a.m.

Where: 165 E. 17th Ave., Eugene.

St. Patty’s Weekend at PublicHouse

Springfield’s PublicHouse is gearing up for a jam-packed St. Patrick’s Day weekend with plans to craft specialty Irish cocktails and drinks, serve up Irish meals and present live performances hosted Friday through Sunday. The Beer Hall and Whiskey lab will be serving Irish drafts, ciders, spirits and Irish-inspired cocktails. Specialty foods include items such as corned beef sandwiches, bangers and onions and Guinness beef stew. Musicians and dancers will take the stage for free, all-ages shows.

When: Friday, March 15, at 11:30 a.m. through Sunday, March 17, at 9 p.m.

Where: 418 A St., Springfield.

The Bier Stein Bottle Shop & Pub

This year, the Bier Stein Bottle Shop & Pub is ringing in St. Patrick’s Day with two days of celebrations, offering the holiday’s obligatory pints of Guinness along with additional craft and import beverage offerings. Food offerings include a spread of corned beef, yukon potatoes and creamed cabbage with onion doppelbock gravy. The venue is family-friendly until 9 p.m.

When: Saturday, March 16, from noon to 11 p.m. and Sunday, March 17, from noon to 10 p.m.

Where: 1591 Willamette St., Eugene.

Beergarden eighth annual Tunes, Tots and Tankards

This is the Beergarden’s eighth annual Tunes, Tots and Tankards event to celebrate St. Patrick's Day weekend. Starting Thursday at 7 p.m., the Beergarden will host live music from performers such as The Celtonauts, David Helfand & the Majestic Ensemble, Blackthorn Academy of Irish Dance, Faroe Rum and the Boys of Ballisodare. Live shows are free and all-ages are welcome until 10 p.m.

The "tots" portion of the event highlights the Beergarden’s six food trucks and specialty menu items crafted for the occasion. Some potato-centric offerings include Moi Poki’s bangers with stout-braised onions and stone ground mustard, Coco Loco’s loaded tater tots and Pizza Alta’s pizza with marinara, smoked mozzarella, roasted potatoes, sausage and chives.

Tankards folks can enjoy include but are not limited to: Harp Irish Lager, Guinness Irish Stout on Nitro, Ancestry Irish Red and Sullivan’s Irish Gold Ale.

When: Thursday, March 14, through Sunday, March 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., with closing is at 9 p.m. on Sunday.

Lucky Clover 5K or 10K race

In Track Town, U.S.A., it’s no wonder some people prefer to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by walking, jogging or running a race. This year’s Lucky Clover race allows participants to choose a 5K or a 10K route.

Three race options are available for participants: a 5K trail, 5K road or 10K Trail/Road where runners take both 5K options in whatever order they choose to make one 10K loop. Online race registration is open until midnight Saturday, March 16. Entry fees are $35 for adults and $30 for youth 17 and younger.

When: Sunday, March 17, at 5:30 p.m.

Where: Alton Baker Park and Pre’s Trail, Eugene.

255 Madison St. Patrick's Day Drag Bingo

There is no shortage of events to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day around town this year. If pubs and races aren’t your cup of tea, maybe a game of bingo could do the trick.

255 Madison is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with a few rounds of drag bingo this year. Expect crafted drinks from the tasting room along with the friendly competition and atmosphere found at a bingo game. Host Nicole Serenity Storm is poised to bring the festivities in what is sure to be a lively weekend with the event’s tagline: “Come Get Lucky.” The cover charge is $5.

When: Sunday, March 17. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.
