Original members of the E Street Band are coming out for this one.

The Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music will celebrate the 50th anniversary of “The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle,” the second album from Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band on Columbia Records, on Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Pollak Theatre on the campus of Monmouth University in West Long Branch.

Participants will include “original E Street Band members, music industry legends and special guests," stated the Archives in a Wednesday, Sept. 6, release. Tickets, $100, go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at the Monmouth University Box Office, located in the Ocean First Bank Center on the university’s campus, or online at https://bityl.co/KwkZ.

There is a four-ticket limit.

“'The Wild, The Innocent, and the E Street Shuffle' was undeniably a pivotal album in Springsteen’s career," said Eileen Chapman, director of the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music, in a statement. "Coming off lackluster sales of his debut album and with no hit single on the horizon, Bruce’s record company was no longer convinced that they still had a future together. 'The Wild and Innocent' would draw on what Bruce did best; he assembled the first version of what would become the legendary E Street Band, penned some of his most lively-spirited songs, and created an upbeat, jazzy, soulfully rocking album.

“Not only did this album give us concert favorites such as 'Rosalita' and 'Kitty’s Back,' its importance and connection to the rest of Bruce’s career cannot be disputed.”

A Springsteen Archives “Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.” 50th anniversary symposium took place at the Pollak in January. E Street Band members Garry Tallent, Vini Lopez and David Sancious were joined by former Springsteen manager Mike Appel on a panel, moderated by Bob Santelli, executive director for the Springsteen Archives.

Tallent, Lopez and Sancious also performed songs from the album.

“This conference marks the second held in a series of 50th anniversary events that explore and celebrate Springsteen’s early albums and landmark events,” said Santelli in a statement. “Public programs such as this one and the symposium held earlier this year on Bruce’s debut album, 'Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.,' are part of our core mission.”

“The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle” was released on Nov. 5, 1973. The songs are “The E Street Shuffle”; “4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy)”; “Kitty's Back”; “Wild Billy's Circus Story”; “Incident on 57th Street”; “Rosalita (Come Out Tonight)”; and “New York City Serenade.”

“The E Street Shuffle,” “Kitty's Back” and “Rosalita” are performed on Springsteen and the E Street Band's current tour. The symposium will take place during an October hiatus for the tour.
