Springfield police locate 1-year-old Emma Miller following tip

UPDATE: Police say Miller has been found safe after receiving a Crime Stoppers tip.

Previously: Springfield police and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are asking for the public's help to locate missing 11-month-old Emma Miller, believed to be with her parents and in danger.

Miller is a Black female with black hair and brown eyes. She is aged 11 months, is 23 inches tall, weighing 24 pounds. The highway patrol said Miller has a large contusion above her left eye.

Police said shortly before 1 p.m. Friday that they believe Emma is with Montana Peebles, 20, her mother, and Joseph Miller, 28, her father.

Peebles is a white woman, 5'11" tall, weighing 120 pounds with blue eyes. Her hair may currently be dyed pink or red.

Miller is a 28-year-old Black man, 5'7" tall, weighing 163 pounds with brown eyes.

The couple was last seen leaving their trailer house at 1500 S. Golden Ave., Lot 87, in a small black car with an unknown white male driver.

The highway patrol said Miller and her parents may be in a black passenger car or small black SUV.

The highway patrol said Emma and suspects were last seen at the residence on Jan. 20. A court order has been issued for the child to be released to the custody of the Division of Youth Services due to abuse or neglect.

According to a highway patrol alert issued late Friday, the suspects are known to be armed and will possibly be in the company of an unknown white male, who is known to drive a black passenger car or small black SUV. The suspects will also possibly be leaving the area on Feb. 1 to travel to Connecticut.

Police said anyone with information relating to Emma Miller's whereabouts should call 911 or the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 417-869-TIPS (8477).
