Spring Break camps include art, coding, gymnastics

El Paso school kids are looking forward to a spring break this March.

For many school districts, spring break is in the first two weeks of March. Hopefully, parents have already considered what to do with their kids.

El Paso area attractions like Western Playland and local bowling and skating rinks always exist. But there are also some fun spring break camps you can enroll children in. The El Paso Museum of Art does a good job of introducing children to the arts and helping them hone those skills. The University of Texas at El Paso offers many classes throughout the year.

Here's a look at a few of them.

The El Paso Museum of Artoffers a variety of art classes for kids from March 11-15. Topics include ceramics, embroidery and clay jewelry. Check out the various classes on the museum website: https://epma.art

Code Ninjas offers spring break coding camps

Code Ninjas, 6450 N. Desert Blvd., Suite G-103, offers camps for children ages 5 to 14 to learn about coding throughout the year and during spring break, March 4-8 and March 11-15. UTEP offers youth programs

The University of Texas at El Paso offers hundreds of youth programs and camps throughout the year to children of all ages, including summer, spring break and fall camps.

Whether your children want to learn about science or the fine arts or work on their athletic skills, there is a program for that. Download the program or email p3youth@utep.edu for more information.

The Little Gym offers spring break camps

The Little Gym, 6351 S. Desert Blvd., Building A, will offer Spring Break camps for ages 3-8. All children must be potty independent. Week One, March 4-6, and March 8 will have a Hawaiian hideaway theme. Week two, March 11-13 and March 15, will be Superheroes Unite theme. Information: www.thelittlegym.com/texas-el-paso

Gymnastics Elite

Gymnastics Elite will have spring fun camps from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 4-8 and March 11-15. Camps are open for ages 5 and up. Campers must bring their lunch and water bottles/cups. Pre-registration required, no walk-ins. Information: www.gymnastics-elite.com/gymnastics-camp

Snapology offers STEAM-based camps

Snapology is offering STEAM-based classes that include robotics, animation, and coding at Discovery Center, 12285 Pellicano Drive. The business has camps during all intersession breaks and summer. Information: https://www.snapology.com/texas-elpaso/

Join Journalism Camp

High schoolers are invited to apply for a Journalism Camp for ages 14-18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 11-15. The camp will be free in the Juliet Hart Educational Room at the McCall Neighborhood Center, 3231 Wyoming Ave. Students must fill out an application online by March 1. Applicants can expect to hear back by March 5.

Top Golf El Paso offers $15 deal

Top Golf El Paso, 365 Vin Rambla Drive, is offering unlimited Topgolf play for $15 per person, from opening to noon Monday through Friday. Valid for walk-ins only. Make sure and ask for the unlimited promotion.
