Spoon Launch 'Aura Reader' With Spotify

The web app analyzes your top 10 Spoon songs and presents you with custom cover artwork.

By Noah Yoo.

Spoon and Spotify have partnered up for a new “Aura Reader.” The web application allows users to log in with their Spotify account and input a playlist containing 10 of their favorite Spoon songs for analysis. In turn, the “Aura Reader” creates a uniquely colorized version of the cover artwork for Spoon’s forthcoming album Hot Thoughts, and also gives percentage readings of the “danceability,” “energy,” “liveness,” and “valence” of the given playlist. Check it out here. Hot Thoughts is out March 17 via Matador.
