The air is cool and a ceiling of rain clouds rolled in as October opened in Kitsap County. It’s the perfect weather to get cozy, curl up on the couch in a blanket and hot drink, or get outside to one of the array of Halloween and fall events going on locally.

Spooky events in Kitsap County
The Carnival of Slaughter Halloween Tour: 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7
Kick off the season with some death metal at The Charleston, presented by Outlaw Music Promotions & Washington Deathfest. Witness Kryptoxik Mortality, Chronic Illness, Neuropsychosis and Cryptic Enslavement rock the stage. All ages are welcome and costumes are encouraged. The Charleston, 333 N. Callow Ave., Bremerton
Annual Squash Hunt and Spooky Plants Walk: 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10

Halloween movie nights at the Admiral
"The Rocky Horror Picture Show," at 9 and 11 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13

It’s time to be re-immersed in the strange, sexy world of the 1975 cult classic "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," a frequent visitor to the downtown Bremerton theater during October the past several years. Then, it’s time for $5 movie night right as Halloween approaches with a showing of the 1993 Disney classic starring Bette Midler and Sarah Jessica Parker. Prom Date Mixtape 80s Halloween Party: 8 p.m. until midnight on Friday, Oct. 27
Tear up the dance floor at The Admiral at this Halloween-slasher themed 80s tribute concert complete with a balloon drop, confetti, a costume contest, drink specials and party favors as a dedicated 80s cover band performs classic pop and rock music. Admiral Theatre, 515 Pacific Ave., Bremerton
Poulsbo Halloween Hunt: Noon to 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28

HOWL-o-ween at Islandwood: 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29
Visitors to the island's environmental education nonprofit can learn about squash, listen to stories around the bonfire, do fall crafts, partake in a boneyard investigation and learn from naturalists throughout the trails all while enjoying warm cookies, hot cider and seasonal treats. Bay Street Boo Bash: 3 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28
Trick or treat along the waterfront in Port Orchard, with candy from local businesses, a photo booth, costume contest, pumpkin painting and an interactive storytelling walk hosted by the Kitsap Regional Library, starting at Josephine’s Mercantile. 701 Bay St., Downtown Port Orchard
Downtown Bremerton’s Trick-or-Treat Street: 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 31
Fill up on candy, enjoy a puppy parade, snap a pic at a festive photo booth and engage with local businesses while Fourth Street and Pacific Avenue will be shut down for trick-or-treating. Downtown Bremerton
Bainbridge Halloween Walk: 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 31
Winslow Way will be shut down for costumed treat hunters scout their next sweet snack. The Downtown Association will supply free trick-or-treat bags at their office. Halloween music will play from the Eagle Harbor Church bell tower and costumed visitors can enjoy free hot cider and cast votes for the best merchant costume. Winslow Way on Bainbridge Island
Ghoulsbo Halloween Trick or Treat: 4 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 31
Poulsbo's Front Street will be shut down from traffic for costumed families to wander the block and trick-or-treat at businesses. Downtown Poulsbo
