Spinal Tap’s Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer) Announces New Solo Album

Spinal Tap bassist Derek Smalls (a fictional character portrayed by Harry Shearer) has announced his first solo album. Smalls Change (Meditations Upon Ageing) is out April 13 via Twanky/BMG. Though his Spinal Tap bandmates David St. Hubbins and Nigel Tufnel don’t appear on the album, Smalls is joined by an all-star lineup of musicians including Steely Dan’s Donald Fagen, David Crosby, RHCP’s Chad Smith, Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins, Peter Frampton, Paul Shaffer, Yes’ Rick Wakeman, Richard Thompson, Dweezil Zappa, Jane Lynch, and many more.
