In this weekly data series powered by Parrot Analytics we look at the top breakout shows of the past week. Breakout shows are the most in-demand series that have premiered in the past 100 days.

Season 1’s final episode of Amazon Prime Video’s “Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” was released on Oct. 14. The next day, demand for the show peaked at 55.7 times in the United States, which is well above where demand for the show has been for most of the season, according to Parrot Analytics‘ data, which takes into account consumer research, streaming, downloads and social media, among other engagement

A slow burn for most of the first season seems to have finally paid off with a finale that was extremely successful in drawing audience attention. If this new level of demand is the starting point for Season 2, expect future seasons to be even more dominant.

Meanwhile, HBO’s “House of the Dragon” continued to reach new heights going into its finale, with 62.3 times the demand of the average series — notably higher than the week before when it had 55.9 times the demand. Demand for the show last week was driven by the penultimate episode which debuted on Oct. 16. Next week, we will have data on Sunday’s much anticipated finale. But at this point, the show has seen multiple weeks of growing demand so momentum is in its favor going into the final week.

Among Disney+ series, “Andor” is picking up speed. Its demand was up nearly 10% this week, at approximately the mid-way point of its first season. Meanwhile, this is the first week since Aug. 18 without a new episode of “She-Hulk,” following the show’s finale on Oct. 13. Even though there was no new content to keep audience interest, its demand only fell by 4.5% this week. The less than precipitous post-finale drop could indicate audiences are still catching up on the show.

“The Watcher,” Netflix’s new thriller from Ryan Murphy, saw the biggest jump in demand this week, ranking as the sixth most in-demand new series following its premiere on Oct. 13. This and “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” give Murphy two of the 10 most in-demand recent premieres just as his deal with Netflix is set to expire next year.

AMC’s “Interview With the Vampire” continued to grow in demand this week (up 12% from last week) showing that audiences are continuing to discover this new series. It’s also likely benefitting from the seasonal spike in interest for scary content as we approach Halloween.
