It's been more than five years since the last episode of The Hills aired, but the drama lives on through the show's villain Spencer Pratt.

In an interview with Complex, reality star couple Spencer and his wife Heidi Pratt touch on the topic that infamously tore Heidi's friendship with Lauren Conrad apart on the show in 2008: LC's reported sex tape with ex-boyfriend Jason Wahler.

On the show, the story prompted a fuming Conrad to yell perhaps the most famous line of the hit series at Heidi: "You know what you did!". Only, according to Spencer (and as fans have long suspected), it wasn't Heidi who started the rumor – it was Spencer himself.

"Lauren is a cold-hearted killer," Spencer, 32, told the magazine. "That's what people don't get. She will cut you in your sleep. She tried to destroy us. If you want to throw missiles, I'm throwing a nuke. This is how I operate."

In the interview, the couple maintains that Conrad did have a sex tape with Wahler. (Conrad did not opt to comment for the story.)

Added Heidi, "Today, I would be like, 'Bitch, you know what you did,' "

Spencer also blamed Conrad, now 29, for causing rifts within his family and Heidi's.

"My mom's a Lauren supporter," Spencer said, adding that while he stays in touch with his father, he is not on speaking terms with his sister, Stephanie Pratt.

As for Heidi's family, Spencer claimed her mother and sister were "paid off" to be "Team LC."

"They didn't really feel that way," Heidi said of her family, whom she has now repaired her relationship with since their fracture was broadcast on the series. "That was the hardest thing, when everyone else still had their families."

Heidi, 29, and Spencer – perhaps reality TV's best-known villainous couple – have since appeared on several other shows, including Celebrity Big Brother and Marriage Boot Camp – though Spencer admitted he "would have done a lot of things differently" throughout his career.

"Reacclimating off that high of that fame and lifestyle was really hard," Heidi added. "We had these expectations of, 'Oh, we're going to have our own show.' My expectation of life and where I thought we were going to be is so different from our reality."

However, both admit it was all worth it in the end: "I'm so obsessed with my husband," Heidi said. "I love him so deeply and would do everything 100 times over to be with him. That's it."

"Only God would bring Heidi into my life," Spencer said. "I don't think I deserve someone who is really that sweet. For me, that's my miracle."
