A marine biologist has captured stunning footage of a school of cownose rays swimming at the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Queensland.
Jacinta Shackleton was snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef when she encountered the large group of rays, often referred to as a “fever”.
Describing the footage on Instagram, Shackleton, who regularly films footage at the Great Barrier Reef, said it was her first sighting of cownose rays.
“This is my first ever sighting of a cownose ray during my time on the Southern Great Barrier Reef and I was absolutely blown away,” she said. Credit: Jacinta Shackleton via Storyful
