Sparks Fly When Parents In A Custody Battle Face Off On Dr. Phil’s Stage

Brett says he recently gained physical custody of his 5-year-old daughter, Bella, after being left out of her life for the first four years. He says that when Bella was 3, it was finally confirmed that he was the father, but claims that Bella’s mom, Bronwyn, kept the child from him. After going to the courts, Brett was recently given physical custody, and Bella is now being raised by him and his girlfriend, Sarah.

“One of the things that I really try to focus on every day with Bella is setting a proper example for her,” says Sarah. “I feel like I need to be there in her life to show her how a mother is really supposed to act.”

Sarah has never met Bronwyn but says that she has things she doesn’t like about her. “But I also understand that she might not mentally be able to be the mom everybody is hoping that she would be,” Sarah says. “The difference between Bronwyn and I is I’m able to see Bella as a future adult and human being, and Bronwyn mainly sees a Barbie Doll that she can dress up and use to get things.”
