‘Spaced Out’ Comedy Redeveloped As Multi-Cam At CBS With Bill Lawrence

CBS has closed a deal for Spaced Out, a multi-camera workplace comedy from Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence and Warner Bros. TV where Lawrence’s Doozer Prods. is based.

Written by Lawrence, the ensemble comedy is set in the world of commercial space travel. Doozer’s Lawrence and Jeff Ingold executive produce.

A single-camera version of Spaced Out was set up at NBC last season. It was written by Adam Sztykiel and executive produced by Lawrence and Ingold. The project went to pilot, which was directed by Ruben Fleischer and starred Matt Shively, Christine Woods and Miranda Cosgrove. The idea now is being redeveloped as a multi-cam with Lawrence as writer.

Doozer’s development slate this year includes Whiskey Cavalier at ABC, written by Dave Hemingson and starring Scott Foley, which has a put pilot commitment, and Dead Inside at the CW written by Katie Lovejoy.

Lawrence is repped by ICM Partners.
