Southern Festival of Books returns this fall in Nashville with Pulitzer Prize winners, more

Pulitzer Prize winners, Guggenheim fellows, and a Grammy-nominated country artist will share a vast bill at this year’s Southern Festival of Books.

The 34th annual event takes place October 14 through 16 at War Memorial Plaza and the Nashville Public Library’s main branch. This will be their first in-person event since 2019.

More than 200 authors are slated to appear via live readings, panels, and signings. The list includes Joshua Cohen (whose latest novel “The Netanyahus” won the 2022 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction), Rick Bragg (“The Speckled Beauty: A Dog and His People”), and Nashville-based country artist Margo Price, who will release her first book, “Maybe We'll Make It: A Memoir,” in October.

The free event features three stages dedicated to live music, performing arts, and children’s fare. Some 75 sessions with appearing authors are planned, as well as 60 vendors and food trucks on the festival grounds.
