'Southern Charm' Star Kathryn Dennis Puts on a Smile for Daughter's First Day of Kindergarten

“Southern Charm” star Kathryn Dennis was able to put on a smile and take her kids to their first day of school, only days after her mother passed away.

Dennis posted a video today of her driving as she finished dropping off her kids, Kensie and Saint, for the first day at their new school.

Kensie is starting her first day of kindergarten and Dennis pondered how her children have grown up so quickly.

Dennis said, “Am I about to be in parent drop off line? Wow, that happened quick. I’m still a cool mom, right?”

She continued, “Maybe I’m joining the PTA … I’m still cool, right?"

Dennis then sent love to all the moms out there dropping off their kids at school, “We can do this. We will not cry."

She then posted adorable photos of her kids in their first day of school outfits.

Over the weekend, the reality star posted a throwback photo of her family, including her mother, at a wedding. She captioned the image simply with, “Family❤️."

Her co-stars were quick to send Dennis love following her mother’s passing.

Naomie Olinda wrote, “Sending you allllllll the love in the world. KD I am so so sorry for your loss

Kathryn’s mother, Allison Calhoun Dennis, passed away last Wednesday evening at her home in South Carolina after battling cancer. She was 59 years old.

Allison is survived by her husband, Luke Dennis, Kathryn and son Luke Jr.

Kathryn and her family announced that “all services will be private" and are asking for donations to be made in their mother's honor for cancer research.

They announced, “In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, St. Jude Tribute Program, PO Box 1000 Dept 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.”

Allison died after suffering an “extended illness.”

She had been diagnosed with cancer and moved in with Kathryn during the battle. We've learned she finished chemotherapy treatment last year but experienced health issues earlier this year.

Allison had to undergo emergency surgery in May after experiencing severe stomach pains.

Kathryn’s mother had recently went to court to back up her daughter in the custody battle with Thomas Ravenel.

She submitted a declaration in court, firing back at Ravenel’s accusation she took care of their kids and not Kathryn. Allison praised Kathryn’s parenting skills, saying she “has a very loving relationship with her children.”
