Southern Charm 's Shep Rose Admits to Cheating on Girlfriend Taylor Green: 'We've Had a Few Hiccups'

Southern Charm's Shep Rose to Release Memoir, Average Expectations, About His Wildest Exploits

"I wrote this book for the fans and the haters," says the Bravo star

Shep Rose is coming clean.

During part one of the Southern Charm reunion that aired on Thursday night, the 41-year-old star opened up about how he and his girlfriend, Taylor Ann Green, previously went through a rough patch in their relationship, that involved the Bravo star being unfaithful.

Brought to light after his fellow castmates complimented him on settling down with his girlfriend during the Season 7 reunion special, Rose told the group and host Andy Cohen, "We had a few hiccups," before also noting, "There were some text messages."

Further pushed to explain more after Craig Conover said, "You made out with a girl," Rose detailed, "I kissed a girl in a stairwell and that's all it was."

"It was an old flame and we were texting … and nothing ever came of it," he added. "It was a moment of weakness. I was drinking, but that's all it was and I'll go to my grave knowing that that's true."

Rose, who has been dating Green since early last year, continued on to say that while coming clean about his cheating wasn't ideal — or something to be romanticized as costar Leva Bonaparte insinuated — the incident brought the pair to a stronger, better place in their relationship.

"She goes, 'Look, I hate what happened and it hurt me a lot, however, I'd like to stay with you. I'm in love with you. You make me happy,'" he said of the conversation the couple shared. "And we cried and it was like a big deal."

Rose previously spoke candidly about the current state of his relationship during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live ahead of the Southern Charm reunion earlier in the month.

Sharing that they have met each other's parents and spend a lot of nights with one another, despite not technically living together, Rose also said that Green gets along with everyone in his inner circle.

Last year, during a different appearance on WWHL in November, the Bravo star similarly discussed his relationship with Green and opened up about how he's adjusting to monogamy after resisting the concept for so long.

Rose shared that hunkering down at home with his love amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic gave him no choice — but it was actually quite pleasant.

"I mean, we were quarantined together, which made it quite easy," he said. "Honestly, we were like a married couple two or three months into our relationship, so, that was a change and I was kind of nervous about it — but I must say, domesticity isn't all that bad, and maybe I was being scared of it for no reason at all."

Southern Charm airs Thursdays (9 p.m. ET) on Bravo.
