‘Southern Charm’ Kathryn Dennis Arraigned After Alleged Involvement In A 3-Car Collision

Kathryn Dennis is in hot water following her arrest on Monday night for driving under the influence. 

The television personality's latest run-in with the law comes a year after she lost custody of her children due to a failed drug test.

Kathryn Dennis Is Accused Of Being Impaired During Recent Multi-Car Crash

Dennis has reportedly been arrested after her involvement in a three-car crash that resulted from her being intoxicated. 

According to legal documents detailing the incident, a police officer in Goose Creek, South Carolina, described her condition at the accident scene as appearing impaired. 

The officer noted "glossy eyes and an odor of alcohol coming from her person." She was also booked for driving with an open container. Even though this is her first offense for drinking and driving, it is not Dennis' first encounter with the law.

Per TMZ, she was identified as a suspect in an elementary school hit-and-run in November 2023, although she was never arrested. 

The outlet added that the "Southern Charm" alum has faced substance abuse struggles in the past, leading to her losing custody of her two kids in 2016. She initially lost custody after testing positive for marijuana and entering rehab. 

Her subsequent attempts to regain custody failed and her custody battle with her former partner — and baby daddy, Thomas Ravenel — came to an end when the latter gained full custody of their kids in 2023.

Dennis Was Awarded Supervised Visits With Her Kids

Last May, The Blast detailed that shortly after Dennis' baby daddy was awarded full custody, he broke his silence on the outcome saying:

Adding more details on the outcome of the custody battle, Ravenel stated that his ex was not permitted to spend overnights with their children, Kensington "Kensie" Calhoun Ravenel and St. Julien "Saint" Rembert Ravenel.

He also shared that it had become his responsibility to transport the minors to "the halfway point between Aiken and Charleston, where Kathryn will pick them up."

Why Does Ravenel Keep Winning The Custody Battle Against Kathryn Dennis?

Regarding her many failed custody attempts, it was previously reported that Dennis attempted to regain control by leveraging on Ravenel's then-nanny, Dawn Ledwell, accusing him of assault.

Unfortunately, her plans came to nothing, and her ex retained full legal custody of their kids while she was limited to scheduled visits in 2019. The reality television star was also required to hire a full-time nanny for their children.

Then, in 2020, Ravenel accused Dennis of drug abuse and negligence around the children, leading to further restrictions with supervised visits every other weekend.

The issue of negligence came up due to her children wandering the streets. One incident in that same year involved her baby boy, Saint, being brought home twice by strangers.

Dennis Wanted More Than This Ex Could Offer Her

Years after her split from Ravenel, Dennis began another relationship with Chleb Ravenell, whom she gushed about on season 8 of "Southern Charm."

Despite the pair cohabiting, their relationship encountered difficulties, leading to their decision to part ways after an emotional conversation that aired on the Bravo series.

Since their split, insiders have unveiled the true nature of their separation, with one person claiming that it was Dennis who "ended the relationship," resulting in them "no longer cohabiting." 

The informant emphasized that the breakup was amicable and Dennis purportedly sought a higher level of commitment from Ravenell. In their words:

As for how their relationship started, The Blast disclosed that Dennis and Ravenell first crossed paths after a mutual friend of Dennis' introduced them. This friend happened to be in a relationship with Ravenell's brother. 

Choosing to make their relationship public on social media on Ravenell's 32nd birthday, Dennis shared a photo of them together on her Instagram Stories.

The snapshot depicted a lovestruck Dennis nestled between her then-lover's legs as she locked lips with him in a tender kiss.
