Southbound I-5 closed at Oregon-California state line, northbound lanes closed in Redding
All southbound lanes of Interstate 5 are closed from Exit 14 in Ashland to the California state line due to severe winter conditions in northern California, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.
California transportation officials also have closed I-5 northbound from Redding to the Oregon state line, ODOT said.
The Oregon closure "may be long until conditions in California improve," ODOT said in a news release.
Oregon Route 66 and Oregon Route 273 also are closed, except for local traffic.
"Do not attempt a detour using lesser maintained routes such as Dead Indian Memorial Rd. or Colestin Rd," ODOT said.
