South Park has revealed a first look clip of its new special, South Park: The End of Obesity, and it spoofs a major scene from the 1987 vampire film The Lost Boys.
In the clip, Randy Marsh attends a party with several middle aged women who are all on the weight loss drug Ozempic. Randy brings some weed to keep the party going, but one of the women offers Randy an Ozempic injection instead. After some shouts of “Randy! Randy! Randy!,” he takes the injection, and falls into a euphoric trance while Lost Boys theme “Cry Little Sister” plays in the background.
The clip mimics the Lost Boys scene when the protagonist Michael drinks a bottle of blood and is initiated into the vampire gang, right down to the crowd whispering “Randy… Randy…” at the end of the sequence. Meanwhile, in the End of Obesity clip, Randy wakes the next day shocked that he feels rejuvenated after a night of doing a “hard drug,” and — unsurprisingly — he’s lost his appetite. South Park: The End of Obesity is out today on Paramount+, and arrives as a part of Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s 14-special deal with ViacomCBS. The special’s logline reads, “In The End of Obesity, the advent of new weight loss drugs has a huge impact on everyone in South Park. When Cartman is denied access to the life-changing medicine, the kids jump into action.” The End of Obesity follows the previous South Park special from Parker and Stone, South Park (Not Suitable for Children).
