South Korea women's golf tour resumes Thursday with no fans
South Korea will continue restarting sports amid the coronavirus pandemic. Women’s golf is the latest sport in the country to resume, as the KLPGA Championship will begin Thursday, according to the Associated Press.
Fans will not be allowed to attend the event.
Players will be advised to follow strict safety measures, including social distancing. There will also be hand sanitizer available for players. It’s unclear whether players will be tested for coronavirus before taking part in the event — which will be broadcast. It’s expected that 150 players will compete.
Women’s golf is the third sport to resume in South Korea. Both baseball and soccer have started playing games. KBO games are being broadcast on ESPN for anyone who needs a baseball fix.
South Korea relaxed restrictions after it reported coronavirus numbers were down, but the country fears another flare up after a man tested positive for coronavirus after visiting multiple nightclubs.
