Nick Collison will re-sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder on a one-year deal, allowing him to play 15 seasons with one franchise before retirement, league sources told The Vertical.

Collison, 36, has been a foundational piece in the Thunder franchise’s rise to contender status in the Western Conference. Collison received interest around the NBA this summer as a reserve center, but finalized a contract to end his career with the Thunder.

Collison was the No. 12 overall selection of Seattle in 2003 out of Kansas and played a leadership role alongside Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant as the franchise moved to Oklahoma City in 2008.

Collison has averaged six points and 5.2 rebounds in his NBA career.
