Soulja Boy Arrested for Violating Gun Probation

Weapons were found in the rapper’s home, despite a 2014 plea deal barring him from possession.

Soulja Boy has been arrested for a violation of probation for having a gun in his home, TMZ reports. His probation stemmed from a January 2014 arrest for illegally carrying a loaded firearm, for which he pled no contest in December 2014. He took a plea deal that included 24 months of probation during which he could not possess any weapons. TMZ reports that today, police searched Soulja Boy’s house after receiving a tip that he “had been threatening people online with guns.” A gun was found in his home, and he was arrested for the probation violation, according to the report.

Pitchfork has reached out to Soulja Boy’s representatives for more information and comment.
