Soulja Boy has seemingly had a change of heart, or so fans thought. The Atlanta rapper apologized to Metro Boomin for making harsh comments toward his late mother on Mother’s Day this past Sunday (May 12).

“I apologize to @MetroBoomin for over reacting over an old tweet,” the 33-year-old wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Wednesday (May 15). “Condolences to his mom. I’m going to seek therapy and anger management. I’m done responding to hate, new or old. [100 emoji, prayer hand emoji].”

Said overreaction began with “Big Draco” wishing the St. Louis producer a Happy Mother’s Day knowing full well that his mother died via murder-suicide in 2022. He went on a tirade of tweets aimed at Metro, which were so cruel that 21 Savage stepped in and defended his longtime collaborator, which prompted Soulja to challenge both men to a boxing match. Though the apology was good to see, the “Crank That” artist wasn’t fully prepared to let bygones be bygones based on his comments in an Instagram Live later that day.

“Y’all ni**as bi**hes, 21 where you at?” Soulja Boy said in an Instagram live. He then laughed off his comment, appearing as though he was joking only to then double down. “Pu**y a** ni**a, you still a bi**h ni**a. Murder gang. […] I ain’t apologize for you, ni**a. I apologized for myself, ni**a, I ain’t like what I said about that ni**a mama but 21, you still a bi**h.”

He then turned his attention to Meek Mill, saying, “Ni**as still playing in your booty hole.” This comment referred to the Philadelphia rapper’s name being mentioned in Diddy’s most recent sexual assault lawsuit. “F**k y’all ni**as, I’m riding around in a Maybach truck. […] Stop letting ni**as f**k you in the booty, ni**a. […] Put a condom on next time, ni**a.”

It even seemed like despite apologizing for his comments about Metro Boomin’s mother, he still was willing to be at odds with him, too. “Don’t think it’s all the way sweet,” the Grammy nominee said. “Nah it ain’t none of that, ni**a, I just ain’t like what I said about that ni**a mama. Y’all still h**s, don’t get it f**ked up.”

Soulja Boy’s initial source of anger was a Metro Boomin tweet from 2012. “My phone rings 2 come 2 the studio with Jeezy,” he wrote. “Yours rings 2 send Soulja Boy a pack of beats. Sit down.” Fans had been resurfacing several of the Heroes & Villains artist’s old tweets throughout his beef with Drake, and this was one of them.

The “Turn My Swag On” artist grew incensed upon seeing the old tweet and posted old DMs from Metro where the producer was trying to send him beats and meet up to work together. Fans reminded Soulja Boy that the tweet was old, but he did not care at all. Metro has yet to comment on any of the disses sent his way over the last few days.
