Kelly Rowland joins Soul Sisters to talk past (Destiny’s Child), present (new book) and future (new music!) and goes deep on issues ranging from race to gender to, yes, growing up with Beyoncé.

Solange was coming up under us so we had to be good role modes for her,” she recalls of their well-behaved adolescence (only slightly begrudgingly).

“I finally have my message and that’s the best feeling in the world,” she says. “I remember when DC locked in on The Writing’s On the Wall as a sound and I was like, ‘That’s mine!’ It’s such a good feeling to know that that sound just sounds like you.”
