Sophie Turner just wants to protect her daughters.

On Thursday, May 16, the Joan actress, 28, appeared on an episode of The Run-Through with Vogue podcast, opening up about how she strives to keep her two daughters — Willa, 3½, and Delphine, 22 months, whom she shares with estranged husband Joe Jonas, 34 — out of the spotlight.

"I try and not be a mother in the public eye as much as possible, but I am a mom and I am in the public eye," Turner said on the podcast. "So it's tough because my main priority is keeping my children away from that and, you know, give them the privacy."

"They never asked for eyes to be on them, and so that's my main priority. And then you get the mom shaming, which you're talking about, where it's like, 'Well she's never seen with her children,'" the mom of two explained of gossip that was spread about her.

"That's the whole point is so that they're not seen, and if I'm going out somewhere where I know there'll be people taking pictures, I'm not gonna bring them," the Game of Thrones alum noted. "And now my daughter actually, I think she has a thing about pictures being taken because she's just grown up with cameras."

Turner said that if she tries to take a picture of her daughter, the little girl will repeatedly say no.

"So now I can't take a good picture of her. Thanks media," Turner joked.

Turner elaborated more on how she felt last year when rumors about her began to fly after she split from Jonas in her interview for British Vogue's June cover story.

"I remember I was on set, I was contracted to be on set for another two weeks, so I couldn't leave. My kids were in the States and I couldn't get to them because I had to finish Joan. And all these articles started coming out..." the mom of two told the outlet.

"It hurt because I really do completely torture myself over every move I make as a mother — mom guilt is so real!" Turner explained. "I just kept having to say to myself, 'None of this is true. You are a good mum and you've never been a partier.' "
