Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas reach temporary child custody agreement amid divorce

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have come to a temporary agreement regarding the custody of their two daughters amid their high-profile divorce.
An interim consent order has laid out a plan for the children, ages 3 and 1, to move back and forth between parents through early 2024, according to court documents obtained by PEOPLE. The agreement comes after the Game of Thrones actress, 27, and the Jonas Brothers musician, 34, "engaged in a productive mediation" over four days last week.
Turner will have custody of their daughters Oct. 9-21, during which time they are permitted to travel to her homeland of England and throughout the United States. The children will be then returned to Jonas and remain with their father until Nov. 2, with the same travel permissions applying.
Tuner will again have the children Nov. 2-22, and Jonas will have them Nov. 22-Dec 16. They will then return to Turner through Jan 7. Beyond that, the agreement requires that a joint report letter offering an update on the status of their mediation be submitted prior to Dec. 23.

In a joint statement provided to EW on Tuesday, Turner and Jonas said, "After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the U.S. and the UK. We look forward to being great co-parents."
The agreement comes two and a half weeks after after Turner sued Jonas, alleging that he had "wrongfully retained" the children and refused to hand over their passports, preventing them from returning to England with her. According to Turner's complaint, the couple previously agreed that England would be the girls' "forever home," and sold their Miami home earlier this year in preparation.
Jonas disputed Turner's claims, and said via a spokesperson that he was "seeking shared parenting with the kids so that they are raised by both their mother and father." Days later, the two reached a temporary agreement to keep their daughters in New York City.
Jonas filed for divorce from Turner on Sept. 5, with documents stating that "the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken." The couple had been married for four years, after they began dating in 2016.
