Sophie Turner Defends ‘Stranger Things’ Kids From Paparazzi In Twitter Storm
“Game of Thrones” actress Sophie Turner is defending the kids of “Stranger Things” from unsolicited paparazzi photos in a series of tweets, pointing out that “It doesn’t matter if they are an actor… they are kids first.”
Turner, who was herself only 15 when the first season of “Game of Thrones” hit HBO and played 13-year-old Sansa Stark, said it’s “super weird” to see full-grown adults wait outside of the hotels of the kids who star in Netflix’s hit “Stranger Things.”
“What adult in their right mind waits for a CHILD outside their hotel and B is then is offended when the CHILD doesn’t stop,” Turner asked.

She asked readers to put themselves in parents’ shoes, as well.
“Imagine.. you, a parent, walking with your 13 year old son/daughter and seeing a fully grown adult pointing their camera phone …. at your kid,” she tweeted. “You would do anything you could to delete that persons photograph, and remove your child from that situation as soon as….. you could.”
“It doesn’t matter if that child happens to be an actor and consented to a professional film crew capturing their moves when…. in character,” the actress continued. “That does NOT mean that this child consented to being followed around with a camera in their face.”

“I don’t care if it ‘Comes with the job.’ It doesn’t,” she said.
Turner’s comments come after Shannon Purser called out a fan out who called Finn Wolfhard (Mike) “heartless” for not stopping for a photo.
“Okay, no. No actor is under any obligation to stop for anyone. Finn is an incredibly kind human. But he’s human and he needs breaks too,” Purser, who plays Season 1’s “Barb,” tweeted over the weekend.
The fan’s original tweet has been deleted, but it said: “Imagine being 14 and heartless that you can’t even stop for your fans who made you famous in the first place! WOW.”

Purser said that “it’s intimidating” to be followed around by people constantly wanted your photo or to talk, and she can’t imagine dealing with it as a kid. “Don’t you DARE make young actors feel guilty or indebted to you because they couldn’t say hi,” she said.
