In what is quickly becoming oen of the messiest divorces in the world of celebrities, Sophie Turner is allegedly more upset over one particular rumor among the many claims in her split from Joe Jonas.
According to In Touch Weekly, rumors about Turner’s supposed hard-partying lifestyle were especially upsetting for the 27-year-old mother of two. Amid early reports about the former couple’s split, it was hinted that their two daughters were being cared for by Jonas, 34, while he was on tour. It was also suggested that their lifestyle differences and Turner’s active social life had driven a wedge between them.

“She’s furious that she’s being painted by people close to him as this hard-partying booze hound, which she says is totally exaggerated,” a source told In Touch Weekly. “At the same time, he’s out there working to maintain his good-guy image, acting like Dad of the Year.”
Jonas was photographed out with his daughters amid claims about Turner’s absence — she was in the UK filming an upcoming series when divorce reports first surfaced. Fans of the Game of Thrones actress were quick to defend the star from these critical reports, a move many thought was a calculated attempt for Jonas to save face in the split.

This supposed PR spin largely backfired with many fans and media outlets pointing out the inherent misogyny and mom-shaming in painting Turner as an absent mother all because of her work schedule or desire to still maintain a life outside of motherhood. As a Buzzfeed headline noted: “No, Joe doesn’t deserve a gold star for looking after the kids while Sophie works.” And more importantly, a celebrity divorce attorney told us that this rumors wouldn’t win Jonas any bonus points in divorce or custody court!
As for why this rumor was particularly upsetting — beyond the fact that it’s deeply sexist — it allegedly struck a nerve “because [Jonas] wasn’t supportive of her when she was struggling after their second baby was born last year,” claims the source.
The source also gave insight into Turner’s alleged reaction to claims that Jonas ended their relationship after something he caught on their Ring camera. “It’s appalling that he was spying on her!” said the source. “But then he claims he wants to keep things friendly.”
“He can’t expect to steamroller her like this — she’s going to eventually tell her side of the story,” said the source. “The divorce is getting nasty.” Nasty indeed, the couple’s custody battle is heating up and it looks to be a complicated one.
