Sophia Bush Responds to Online Engagement Rumors by Flashing Bare Fingers: ‘I Have No 'News' for You'

Sophia Bush and Ashlyn Harris are happily not engaged.

The One Tree Hill alum, 41, addressed online rumors she said were coming from TikTok that she and Harris, 38, are engaged in a series of Instagram Stories posts on Saturday, May 25.

"I hear the internet is being wild? I have no 'news' for you," she wrote in the first slide, over a photo of herself wearing a green blazer and flashing her left hand in a peace sign in front of her face.

All of her fingers except her thumb were visible, and she was only wearing a thin ring on her pinky finger that wasn't an engagement ring.

"But wouldn't you put your hands all up in her jacket if you could??" she continued, referring to her athlete girlfriend. "(To be clear you can't because boundaries, but I'll continue to do it for you because I'm just generous like that)."

"I just wanna squeeeeeeeeeze her," Bush continued in another slide, which included a picture of the Love, Victor actress embracing Harris, with her hand inside her partner's jacket as the retired soccer player smiled down at the camera.

"I get that it's new for y'all to see me so happy and so embodied. It's new for me too. How lucky am I," Bush added in another slide of the previous photo of the couple.

Bush's final slide on the subject featured her hand flashing a peace sign while holding luggage. The only ring on her finger was a pinky ring. "I hope TikTok can relax now. Travel on, friends," read text over the photo.

Per TikTok videos, the false rumors came from the fact that Bush's left hand was hidden in Harris' jacket in previous photos on Bush's Instagram Stories sharing moments from her trip to Paris. One of the previous posts featured a photo of Bush's left hand with her ring finger covered with heart emojis.

After months of quietly dating and making public appearances together, she and Harris also chose April to make their red carpet debut at the 2024 White House Correspondents' Dinner at the Washington Hilton on April 27.
