Brooke Davis and Peyton Sawyer fighting over Lucas Scott? It’s 2006 all over again, and we couldn’t be happier.

The cast of One Tree Hill reunited in Wilmington, N.C. this past weekend to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary, and Sophia Bush (aka Brooke) and Hilarie Burton (Peyton) used the opportunity to reenact one of their characters’ most memorable melees.

This particular fight occurs during the WB-turned-CW drama’s third season finale, which originally aired on May 3, 2006. At this point in the series, Brooke is barely holding onto her relationship with Lucas (played by Chad Michael Murray) when Peyton drops a double whammy of a confession on her bestie: not only does she have feelings for Lucas, but they even shared a kiss while hiding in the library during the school shooting.

In response, Brooke rains down hell on Peyton, slapping her in the face before reminding her that she is, in fact, a “back-stabbing, two-faced bitch.” That last bit didn’t make it into Burton and Bush’s reenactment (maybe for the best), but any One Tree Hill fan worth their salt will still remember and appreciate what they deliver. Watch:

Organized by Friends With Benefit Charity Events, the reunion event was held at Wilmington’s Laney High School, where One Tree Hill was filmed. More than a dozen cast members attended.

One Tree Hill aired for nine seasons (three on The WB and six more on The CW) from 2003 to 2012. An unscripted reunion event, ‘Tis the Season: A One Tree Hill Cast Reunion, aired on Lifetime in 2018. Bush and Morgan also currently co-host Drama Queens, a weekly re-watch podcast, with Bethany Joy Lenz (aka Haley James Scott).

Hit PLAY on the video above to see whether Bush and Morgan still have it (spoiler alert: they do!), then check out the original scene below. When you’re done, drop a comment with your thoughts on the reenactment.
