USC fans and Oklahoma fans had a lot to say in the offseason after Lincoln Riley came to USC and Brent Venables replaced Riley at Oklahoma. Brent Venables is trying to build back the Sooners and remake them in his image, but it’s clear that process will take some time.

Oklahoma gave up 27 first-quarter points. The Sooners allowed 55 well before the end of Saturday’s game in Fort Worth. With the Sooners absorbing multiple key injuries, including one to starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel, TCU took its foot off the gas pedal in the fourth quarter.

The game could have been far worse than the 55-24 final score. Far worse.

The good people at Sooners Wire gathered social media reactions to the game. You can imagine what a shock to the system this is for a program which has not lost more than two games in a season since 2014. USC will try to take care of business as the month of October continues. Oklahoma is already in regrouping mode with an eye toward 2023.
