Sony Moving Roland Emmerich's White House Thriller to Summer 2013
Sony is moving up the release date of Roland Emmerich's upcoming White House action thriller to the summer of 2013, the studio said.
The film, with the working title "White House Down," was originally slated to premiere on Nov. 1, 2013, but it will now debut on June 28, 2013.
The new release date will put it head-to-head with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson's comedy "The Internship" and Ryan Reynolds' supernatural thriller "R.I.P.D."
Moving the film gets it out of the way of "Ender's Game," the upcoming adaptation of Orson Scott Card's science fiction novel and puts it into the heart of blockbuster season.

Emmerich, who famously blew up the White House in 1995's "Independence Day," will cause fresh chaos on Pennsylvania Avenue in his upcoming film, which centers on a group of mercenaries who break in to try to capture the president.
Jamie Foxx will play the commander in chief and Channing Tatum co-stars as the Secret Service agent who is sworn to protect him. Rounding out the cast are Maggie Gyllenhaal, James Wood, Richard Jenkins and Joey King.
