Song premiere: Cary Brothers debuts 'Cool City'

Cary Brothers is an artist who has made his mark on media in a variety of ways. In 2004 “Blue Eyes” was featured on the Grammy Award-winning soundtrack for Garden State. He had a song remixed by acclaimed trance DJ Tiësto that ended up charting and being heard on dance floors across the globe, and he’s one of the most licensed artists in film and television — with songs placed on shows including Grey’s Anatomy, ER, Psych, Bones, and dozens more.

Brothers is getting ready to release his third full-length album, Bruises, on April 27. Launching the record is the single “Cool City,” which Yahoo Entertainment is excited to premiere.

Brothers says the song is about a dark period when he was looking to the adventurous nightlife of Los Angeles as a remedy for his pain. “This song is the musical bridge between what I’ve done before and what interests me now, between youthful choices and the person I’m trying to become. I’m happy to get to the other side of it.”

Brothers will be touring Australia starting in May. If you’d like to keep up with his schedule, check here.
